Data Deletion

How to delete your data from Hesta

You are in control of your data. This page explains how to delete the data Hesta holds about you — including any Instagram data, if you connected an Instagram account.

Delete your Instagram data

If you connected your business's Instagram account to Hesta, we store the Instagram account ID and username, an encrypted access token, and copies of your own posts captioned #hesta. To delete all of it:

  1. Open the Hesta Business app.
  2. Go to Settings → Instagram.
  3. Tap Disconnect and confirm.

Disconnecting immediately deletes the stored access token and every mirrored Instagram photo from our servers, and removes the photo strip from your public page.

Removing Hesta from your Instagram account (Instagram → Settings → Website permissions / Apps and websites) revokes our access on Meta's side. To also remove the data already stored on Hesta, disconnect in the app as above or email us.

Delete your entire Hesta account

  1. Open the Hesta app.
  2. Go to Settings → Delete account.
  3. Confirm the deletion.

This permanently deletes your account and associated personal data. Records we must keep for legal reasons (e.g. invoicing) are retained only as long as the law requires.

Analytics and cookies

If you accepted analytics on the website, you can withdraw consent at any time from the cookie banner — this stops any further collection and clears the analytics and attribution cookies (hesta_attr, hesta_consent) from your browser. To also remove data already held by Google Analytics, email us using the address below and we will action a deletion request with Google.

Request deletion by email

You can also request deletion of your data — Instagram data, your account, or both — by emailing [email protected] from the email or phone number associated with your account. We will confirm completion within 30 days, as required by the GDPR.

See our Privacy Policy for full details on what we collect and how we use it.
